Photo Club outing

Recently I join our local Photo Club because "I needed a Hobby!" :). I have had my camera, a Nikon D60, for about three years now and I'm still very new at using it. I figure this would be a good way to learn more about it and have more opportunities to take pics since it seems that on my own I never have time for it. This is the first outing I have gone out to.

What did I learn during this outing... kinda boring taking pictures of stuff. I definitely enjoy it more taking pics of moving things. I just don't have the eye for this kinda stuff yet but maybe in a couple of "years" I will!

Daddy got our Box

St Patricks day Care Package

Here is what we sent our soldier for St. Pattys day:

Green pepermints, Lucky Charms, Skittles, Green gum, Ranch sunflower seeds,Irish Springs body wash, Green Gatorade, Green monsters, St Patricks day decorations from the dollar store

The idea for the skittles and lucky charms came from "The Dating Divas." They have free printable for the tag but I did not have a printer  so I just copied it on white paper and colored it

Care packages

My coworkers have been so wonderful in donating items to be sent over seas to Rauls company. As soon as I mentioned if they wanted to help our donation box was just overflowing with goodies.  So far we have been able to send 4 boxes! This is what we sent this week:

One box is going to a specific female soldier and the other is packed with stuff that they can all divide up. With that box I ended packing small containers with candy, gum and chapstick, and zip-lock bags with hygiene stuff so its easy for Raul to pass out.

Not being near a military base around others that just "know" your situation is hard but I am so grateful that where ever God take us in our journey we have always been surrounded by wonderful people. I am amazed when I think about all the people that have came into our lives and have become party of our family!

Valentines Care Package

So it took exactly two weeks for our box to get to Afghanistan! So here are pics of what we put into the care package:

Heart with chocolates, Pink woopers, pink mentos, heart shaped little Debbie cakes, pink cotton candy, pink chap stick, pink Extra gum, pink vday candy, XO's drawer scents, vday cookie in a cute tin container, pink iTunes gift card and a card. I also picked up some vday stickers and tissue paper to decorate our box.
